Stanley Rodillians 15 - 17 Rotherham Phoenix

Rotherham pulled off what can only be described as a great escape against a much improved Stanley Rodillians team, the match was a scrappy affair, although Rotherham dominated possesion, they lacked the control to go with it and time after time balls were dropped in promising situation and defensive errors were made, Stanley Rods took advantage of these lapses and went two tries up early on in the first half. A speculative pass by Simon Duke set Owen Swift up for the First of Rotherham's tries, and Jamie Morris completed the comeback in the second half crashing over, Ben Coleman added the conversion to put Phoenix two points up with 10 minutes left. The last few minutes of the game was a tense affair with Rods twice breaking through and threatening to score to win the match. The Rotherham coaches who no doubt will be looking forward to a hard training session tuesday to repay the players for their frayed nerves, would find it easier to focus and what from Saturdays performance was good rather than the long list of things that went wrong.
