Rotherham secured a comfortable victory in atrocious conditions with an eight try performance against close neighbours Rossington.
With howling wind and rain a fluent expansive game was never on the cards and Rotherham’s pack dominated from the start. However it was centre Owen Swift who opened the scoring finishing of some great interplay between forwards and backs. Rotherham then went on to score a further three tries from Andy Stewart, John Saddington and winger John Ross.
The second half followed much the same pattern as the first with Rotherham impressive in the scrum and lineout only for the conditions to spoil any neat back play that was attempted. Further tries for Swift, and Stewart who enjoyed four for his afternoons work completed the scoring.
Rotherham now look forward to this Saturdays tussle at top of the table Rishworthians where both the first and second teams will play.
