Rotherham suffered the second league defeat of the season to a well drilled away team, Rotherham put up stern defence which Rishworthians found hard to break down, Rotherham were always in contention during the match but could not get the break they needed to get onto the score board. A quite clearly fired up set of teams attacked each other hard during the first half with both teams coming close to scoring on several occasions, however it was Rishworthians who broke the deadlock after good work to turn the ball over in the scrum the away team scored from close range from a pick up. The second half was a tense affair and in the end Rishworthians were forced to kick the points to put the game past Phoenix, Rishworthians dominated the line out and eventually a frustrated Phoenix began to loose their shape, however a good performance by phoenix ultimately and something to build on in next weeks away junior vase match at ellesmere port.
