Rotherham
Playing on Clifton Lane Phoenix dominated from the off, and had the opposition team camped in their own 22 for most of the first half, Phoenix were unlucky though, spilling a few chances close to the line, however the deadlock was broken by Owen Swift after excellent work and offload by his centre partner Simon Duke, Swift’s second try came before half time set up by a defence splitting pass by Duke, he then rounded the full back to score under the posts.
The game was then disrupted by an injury to Rotherham’s winger Andy Crookes, who had to be taken from the ground via ambulance, the second half saw Rotherham come out all guns blazing and overpowered Rodillians scoring 7 tries, a further two were Added by Swift and John Saddington and one a piece from Alex Wirth, Charlie Brookes and Andy Ellis. Jon Ratcliffe chipped in with four conversion and Jon Saddington added a further two.
